Sacraments

Please see the Religious Education Handbook for specific dates, times and information for each sacrament

Baptism: Parents and god parents are required to attend a preparation class.  Classes in English are offered at 7:00 p.m. on the last Monday night of the month, or in Spanish at 7:00 p.m. on the last Wednesday night of the month.  Classes are rescheduled for holidays.  The Sacrament is then offered on the first and third weekends of the month (except during the season of Lent).

First Eucharist: The sacrament is traditionally celebrated at completion of second grade.  The child must attend religious education classes for two years (first and second grades) in order to prepare for the sacrament.  The child can complete the two year requirement in second and third grades.  If the child is older, you must discuss the situation with the priest.

Confirmation: The sacrament is celebrated every other year.  There is a two year religious education class attendance requirement.  High School sophomores, juniors and seniors are eligible for these classes.

Marriage: The couple should contact the priest with intent to marry at least 4 months prior to the date they wish to be married.  It is strongly recommended that the couple participate in an Engaged Encounter weekend.  The couple will meet with the priest, as well as with a mentor couple.  For more information please visit Marriage Guidelines.
